For the beginner courses, we will use the book “A Key to Chinese Speech and Writing”. If you order the course material you will get the course book, a specially produced MP3 CD with extra functionality if played in Windows Media Player or iPod (see FAQ), and a folder with all the handouts.

You will learn a total of 400 characters, about 550 words and get acquainted with a further 1150 words. Beside class hours, you are expected to spend at least a further 3 hours per week on your own.
